This campaign is super important! Brain development happens at a very high rate in the first three years of life, and slows down after that. Nurturing positive interactions for babies makes a big difference in building a foundation for relationships and the ability for toddlers to learn and communicate ideas. Babies love to watch, listen, and discover their world, especially when sharing experiences with adults they are most familiar with. Our Talking is Teaching campaign allows children and their families to have opportunities to engage in interactive learning experiences in our community. The conversations that are prompted through play is the foundation of early childhood development and one of the greatest assets to future educational outcomes for our children. This community-wide campaign is more than a single project, it is a commitment to supporting our children's educational attainment from birth.
