Heart of Indiana United Way mobilizes communities to close gaps and open opportunities so all can thrive.
With deep local roots, across Delaware, Madison, Henry, Randolph, and Fayette Counties, we see how challenges like preparing children for success in school and life, achieving financial stability, and helping build people’s resilience meeting basic needs are all interconnected. We bring people and resources together to tackle these issues at their core, creating lasting change.
That’s why we’re here, in our communities, always listening, always ready to respond. Working side-by-side with neighbors, partners, donors, volunteers, and community leaders, we address local needs with innovative solutions.
Every day, we unite people in action to transform lives and communities. Join us in creating a future where everyone, everywhere, can reach their full potential and thrive.

There is a national literacy crisis, with 1 in 4 children growing up without learning to read. Heart of Indiana United Way’s CEO & President Jenni Marsh live on WMUNmuncie this morning with Brianna Green from BY5 inviting you to a special screening of the movie “Sentanced”.
SENTENCED is an immersive and vulnerable exploration of the epidemic of childhood illiteracy through a series of braided character driven stories. Executive produced and narrated by 4x NBA basketball champion Stephen Curry. SENTENCED has been designed to launch 1,000,000 volunteers into early childhood literacy. Filmed from the point of view of ethnically diverse adults and children who have never learned to read, SENTENCED is a forceful yet tender tale of how literacy can free children from the cycles of generational poverty.“
