Senior Link- Are You OK?

We provide telephone reassurance calls to the areas older or disabled individuals who are homebound. Volunteers are matched with individuals to call them once a week at a scheduled time to not only provide the individual with social interaction but also to ensure their basic needs are being met.

What is Senior Link- Are You OK?

The Senior Link-Are You OK? Program provides check-in, telephone reassurance and friendly phone calls to area older adults or disabled individuals who are homebound. Are you OK? is a collaboration between local law enforcement the Heart of Indiana United Way in Madison County, Indiana. 

Why Become and Senior Link-Are You OK? volunteer?

Volunteers provide an essential link for those looking to remain independent but require some help to do so.

What Would I Do?

Senior Link – Are You OK? volunteers are matched with a member(S) and call them once a week at a scheduled time. Call are meant to be social, but also provide an opportunity to ensure their basic needs are being met. If a member does not answer, there is an established procedure to follow so you can reach their emergency contact as well as the local police department to check on their welfare. 

Where?

Volunteers may call from their own phone or may schedule to call from the Anderson Police Department.
