POWERFUL AND TRANSFORMATIVE COACHING: SKILLS AND PRACTICE

Do you feel stuck in your work with people who need help with their finances, housing, work, health, parenting and other life issues?
Would you like to learn about, practice, and be able to start using effective tools and skills that are proven to empower people in the direction of life-long change?
If you answered yes to either of these questions, this training is for you.
This is a 3 day training, geared towards anyone working in a helping profession. This training was developed for employment, financial, income supports, family, and other area-specific coaches in a network serving primarily low-income adults and families. It builds on the skills of these professionals who collaborate with and work alongside individuals and families who are developing a vision and goals for their lives. It is effective in working with any population aiming to accomplish life goals that target certain areas of functioning in their lives.
Objectives of the Training
- Participants will learn about and develop skills using a coaching model that is founded in the belief that all people are creative, resourceful and whole.
- Participants will become familiar with foundational elements, skills, and tools from the Co-Active approach, Social Work Practice, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma Informed Care, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and other evidence-based practice models that can be utilized with coachees.
- Participants will develop skills in coaching through role play.
- Participants will gain an appreciation for multiple methods of coaching and be confident in selecting best practices to individualize coaching with coachees.
Short segments of reading material will be provided to prepare participants in Co-Active Coaching, Motivational Interviewing, Information about Trauma and Trauma Informed Care.
